MS Essentials 15: Women's health - pregnancy, menstruation, contraception and menopause

Pages: 20
Reference: ES15/0108

Many women with MS ask if there are any risks associated with having a baby. This booklet reassures women that MS is no reason not to, and examines research which has shown that the risk of an MS relapse or ‘attack’ can be reduced during pregnancy.

Tips and suggestions on how best to plan for birth and the time after are also given. Other issues specifically relating to women, such as contraception, menopause and hormone replacement therapy, are also discussed.
