Champion profile:
Shiv has MS, and wanted to complete the Great North Run as it would be a great personal challenge. He was inspired to take part in the run after Prem Bhabhi ran in 2005 to raise money for Shiv's 40th birthday.
Shiv says that he found the run to be a difficult event, but felt a tremendous sense of achievement as he crossed the finish line, "I felt as if I could walk on water!" he said.
Shiv had tremendous support both during his training and on the run, and he would like to give thanks to the following people: his wife and three children, his sister-in-law, his friend for driving him to Newcastle and back, his employer J Leon and Co, friends and trainers at David Lloyd Heston, and of course the many people who sponsored his run.
