From Knutsford, Cheshire gained the Silver award.
Champion profile:
Phil ran the London Marathon for the MS Society in 2005. Having run a half marathon in 2004, it seemed that running a full marathon should be the next challenge. Phil had the support of his wife and two children as sticking to his training regime required a lot of time. Preparing for the marathon took Phil six months of hard training. , Phil was able to email his page to all his supporters. The generosity of his friends in supporting him provided massive encouragement. Phil raised a phenomenal amount for the MS Society meaning he gained a Silver award immediately.
He says that "The MS Society cheering points were a huge boost as I made my way around the route and the massage afterwards was very welcome. Would I do it again next year? Very tempted!"
