MRI - Testing for multiple sclerosis (MS)

(External) Watch film in HD

MS is complex and can cause many different symptoms, so it's not easy to diagnose. It's hard to pinpoint exactly when MS begins, and the early signs and symptoms are different for everyone.

Dorothy Sutton, diagnosed with MS, and Professor David Miller, Head of the Department of Neuroinflammation at the Institute of Neurology (London) give an overview of the use of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in MS, and how important it has been for people with the condition looking for a diagnosis.

Without the investment from the MS Society in research for MRI scanners, the hospitals wouldn't be able to afford them. I'm so grateful to anyone who's donated. Dorothy Sutton
